Review: The paper “Learning to do responsible innovation in industry: six lessons” explores key findings about the application of RRI practices within a real life context, presenting six lessons learnt from practical use of RRI. For the purposes of this project, we could apply the meta strategy of “monitoring RRI progress”. It is important to actually quantify the impact that our RRI research has on our project and determine whether we are adhering to the methodology. Assessing our practical use of RRI can also mean we can measure how effective our project is and spot if there is anything we should be concerned about before it becomes a problem.
The downsides of this approach is that we will need to invest time and resources into figuring out how we can assess our RRI implementation and then to continually monitor how our implementation is holding up. However, the impact of monitoring our RRI progress and improving based on our insights is that we can ourselves accountable to the client.
