Agenda
- Our empathy/problem statement
- Describe some customer profiles
- Our initial ideas put forwards for the project
- Discuss a solution we should pursue
Minutes
- Tom also joined meeting - also from council
- Sue likes our customer profiles :) - she thinks the two scenarios picked out are good
- Ran through all of our slides.
- Lottie adult social care are looking into “community connectors”; volunteers; Sue says there is value in this solution. We need to make sure that people only contact social workers if needed.
- Sue wants to get off the ground a sort of case view, etc, she says we are on the right lines for this.
- All of them are good ideas. It would be good to see an assessment of the risks - GDPR, security of people’s data, safeguarding, these are people’s lives, etc. We should sort through risks and describe how we would mitigate them.
- Security concerns with user input into chat bot:
- Do we have access to transcripts of existing calls:
Sue doesn’t believe any recording happens
Tom suggests there may be options:
- Would need person’s permission to share recordings
- Mock conversations (imperfect transcript) cobbled together from other transcripts
Could create a representative but anonymised version of actual conversations
- We could take audio/text here
- Do we have access to transcripts of existing calls:
Sue doesn’t believe any recording happens
Tom suggests there may be options:
- Sue suggests they can share conversation frameworks (of social workers), they can ask for us if there is one for the front door; assessment follows specific questions; we could get a blank copy of this. Sue has been made aware we need this around January.
- Tom’s question: do we see the assistant as being able to proactively drive the conversation? People with a couple of different issues - need to be asked exploratory questions - would help get us more information. Can help us prescribe more efficiently. “Hi, I’m having mobility problems” => user experience retrieves relevant services, etc, also may ask do you live alone? do you see your neighbours regularly? can they help? if they don’t see people often, maybe ask do you experience any loneliness? - make sure it is not transactional, drive the conversation
- Sue would be interested in getting this to work with WhatsApp, many people use this. Even for less digital confident people - usually since they already use it to contact family. Using a safe, familiar environment is a good thing to explore.
my speaker notes for ideas section
- We’re going to briefly describe potential ideas we’ve had for various solutions we could build.
- One important thing to remember is that a lot of these ideas are not mutually exclusive and could actually benefit from one another. So I think we’ll run through all of them and then we can discuss them after.
- So we’ll start off simple:
- One of the issues raised was that people tend to want to talk to an actual person and get confirmation about their problems.
- Providing a sign-posted discussion board for residents means they can talk about their issues and get support from volunteers or otherwise interact with people that live around them.
- There are some caveats to this solution, namely content moderation and barrier to entry.
- However, this could still prove useful in tandem with the other ideas we have lined up.
- Though we do need to make sure the scope of the project is reasonable.
- [next slide] So I’ll hand it over for the next idea.
