Product Cipher

Product (composite) ciphers chain substitution-transposition combinations, it is the execution of $2$ or more simple ciphers in sequence so that the result (product) is cryptographically stronger than any of the component ciphers.

• The idea is that a cipher with $k$-bit key and $n$-bit blocks allows a total of $2^k$ possible transformations rather than $2^n$.
